The Creation of Paldegora: Pre-Apocalypse

The Creation

Ahn the Creator God with only a thought, itself only a infinitesimal moment and yet more than an eternity, formed Paldegora. It was a sphere that came to existence within a great void of time. This he regarded and then gifted to his three children and gave them dominion over it. First he called forth Phi the God of light. Who suddenly blazed in a hot bright white light and scorched all the surface of Paldegora causing it to soften and melt and begin to burn away. All the void was filled with the white hot light of her immortal beauty.

Next he called forth Sahn the God of darkness. Sahn’s darkness raced across the void and clashed with Phi’s light. The dense of his darkness was filled with absolute cold and covered half of the sphere of Paldegora. Cooling it rapidly and freezing it to make it hard and unyielding and ungiving. Throughout the void the light of Phi and the darkness of Sahn endlessly clashed and danced, shined and darkened in a unending struggle to master all the void.

Ahn then in his great wisdom set the sphere to spin so as to prepare it for things to come. So then the surface could melt and then harden and be tempered over and over, readying it for the next child who he would soon call forth. But for a epoch all was but black and white. Harsh in its contrast with no yielding by either God throughout all the void.

Then Ahn called forth Naa the God of balance. He then showed her Paldegora and set her upon her a task. Where there was once only black and white, grey then appeared. Small and thin and soft at first, it then grew between and expanded to separated the black from the white. When it reached its limit against the light and the darkness it exploded. Born then were all the colors of the rainbow and it spread throughout everything. To the amazement of all three Gods, they realized they could hear and speak to one another now and understood each.

With this they began to sing through which they could created all manner of things. Hearing each other’s song they soon began to sing together in harmony. From this harmony sprang the sun and stars and solid ground with water and air. Mountains rose and fell and huge seas formed. Then plants and animals appeared and forests grew and rivers and lakes, now exploding with life began to spread all over Paldegora.

Ahn was pleased with their song and loved them for the beauty that the three had created together. As a reward he gave them one last gift and he gave them thousands of each. Elves, Dwarves, Gnomes and Halflings he gave to them to nurture and care for as their own children.

Then Ahn’s thought changed and he was never heard from again. The three Gods then taught their children to speak so they might walk among them and speak with them and set them tasks as guardians and caretakers of Paldegora. The Elves were given charge of the the great forests and the islands and the seas and rivers and things pure and beautiful and all the colors of nature. They were given great intellect and gracefulness to make music for all to hear.

The Dwarves were given the great mountains of stone and the sparkling of gems and the shining and forging of metals. They were given the strength for hammering rock and metal and endurance for carving and building from stone to form the great cities for all.

Gnomes were given the low forests and lakes and the songs of birds and beasts the very care of living creatures. They were given the gift of energy and the whimsy of laughter and frivolity of fun and humor for all creatures.

Halflings were given then the rolling meadows, plains of grass and hills, and the fruits, the vegetables and grains and the gifts of the vine. They were then filled with fortitude and determination from which the very food and drink of all life came and the respect of the land and the nature of all growing things within it.

For an age of time they all lived together in peace and harmony and worshipped the three which brought them life and happiness.
