Summary

They arrived in Calimport. Captain Pocaat expertly navigated the massive port. There were ships moving in all directions, seemingly without order or direction from any central authority. They docked and Captain Pocaat thanked them for their help defending the ship. She gifted them a set of leather bracers. She remembered they were supposed to be magical but she didn’t know in what way. They moved into the town area known as the Dock Ward. They learned quickly that the town was divided into wards. They found a kind of general map showing major sites but it also marked the various wards. Since Geolain was associated with magic, they thought the Wizard Ward would be a good place to start.

They made there way to that section of town. They passed an inn called “The Black Dog” along the way. Each ward had a wall around it and gates to get into and out of it. This would be good for when they needed to lock down a ward. Once in the wizard ward, they found they were looked down upon. Apparently they didn’t present a sophisticated enough appearance. Pyreece tried to stop someone to ask for assistance in finding Geolain and they addressed her as if she were a lowly beggar they had to dodge. She did manage to stop someone that was able to point them to the Quill Ward.

They made their way north too the Quill Ward. Once in, they found someone that gave them directions to Geolain’s residence. They made their way there and pulled a rope to ring the bell. A young man named Joah answered the door. They asked to speak to Geolain. They told him that Veoden had sent them from Almraiven. After a moment, they were let in and asked to wait in a drawing room. A few moments later, Geolain entered and introduced himself. The party introduced themselves and Pyreece tried to ask for help finding Halaan without giving away too much information. Only that they had been told that he could help them find him. He kept pushing as to the reason they were looking for this Halaan until Brandy jumped in and just told him everything. He agreed the situation was important and agreed help try and find this Halaan but said it would take some time and research.

As with most requests for assistance, this person had their need for assistance as well. Geolain asked if they would help him recover some books on magic and some magical tomes from a group known as the Sentinels of the True Way. They have been stealing books around town and he understood the group was going to destroy them. They asked questions to figure out where to start. He suggested a man named Driskel was a member of this group and might be able to lead them to the books. He owned an inn called “The Blind Beggar” in the Makers Ward. He pulled out a more detailed map and showed them where it was. He suggested that Elenor and Pyreece change their looks a little to disguise any outward appearance as magic users before approaching him. Oglesby asked for a book that he could use in a ruse to infiltrate the organization. Geolain gave him a book called “Processes of Evocation”. Oglesby asked him to cast something on it that would also register as being magical to reinforce that part of the props importance. Geolain did that.

They also asked him if he could identify the bracers that Captain Pocaat had given them. Joah was his apprentice and needed the practice so he had him provide that service. He identified them as Bracers of Archery. It gives a creature the ability to use any bow except crossbows as if he was proficient in its uses. If they are already proficient in a particular bow, they get +2 to attack and +1 damage whenever that type of bow is used. Brandy took those. They headed out, first to find some clothing to help disguise Elenor and Pyreece. They found a shop and took care of that. Brandy picked up something as well and then dirtied it up. They left there and headed to the Makers Ward where they found the Blind Beggar.

They went in and found a table to sit at. Oglesby struck up a conversation with the wench as they ordered their food and eventually convinced her that he had a foul book he wanted to dispose of and asked if she knew someone that would want it. She saw the title and after a little more discussion, went and brought out Driskel. After much more sly conversation, Oglesby expressed his desire to be rid of this book and all other material like it. He convinced Driskel that he didn’t like magic users and their magic. After finding out about Driskel’s collection of books and his desire to destroy them, he explained that he and his expert in the matter, Elenor, could help him. They convinced him that simply burning a magical tome sometimes just sent it back to the shelves of the person they got it from. Magic protects magic after all.

Driskel finally took Oglesby and Elenor to his home where he fetched a key ring from behind a stone that was part of his fireplace. They moved to a cellar door behind the house and Driskel taped out a specific patterned knock before unlocking the door. They went in and found three people guarding a pile of books. Tealeia, Neebo, and Kibick. They were less than happy to see the newcomers. They listened while Oglesby and Elenor convinced Driskel that they had to help him destroy the books in order to do it right. Neebo tried to poo-poo the whole thing but Oglesby pointed out that Neebo knew nothing of magic where as Oglesby had an expert to help them, Elenor. It was finally decided that they would leave for the evening and head back to the inn, rest for the night, and meet up again in the morning to start taking care of these books.

As business at the inn was winding down for the evening, They took their leave of the inn telling Driskel the would see him in the morning as agreed. They left the inn and made their way to Driskel’s house. Oglesby picked the lock on the house, fetched the keys from the fire place, relocked the door, and they headed to the cellar door. He used the secret knock and then opened the door. Everyone went in and Neebo wasn’t happy. He thought they were coming back in the morning to do this. Oglesby and Elenor explained that the plans had changed and that they were gathering the books to be ready to destroy them in the morning. Neebo kept trying to tell them that they weren’t to touch the books until Driskel was here. Oglesby told them that Driskel would be here after closing the inn and that they should get started. Neebo kept insisting that they wait. At one point he threatened Elenor at the point of a dagger. Audra threatened him at the point of her sword.

The tension grew until Neebo ordered Kibick to fetch the others. As Kibick started to leave a fight broke out. Kibick did make it out of the cellar, chased by Pyreece and Brandy. Pyreece couldn’t catch him but Brandy put a fire arrow into her back and she fell dead. They returned to the Cellar with the body. In the cellar another battle had raged with Kipp seriously injuring Neebo resulting in Neebo and Tealeia surrendering. They bandaged Neebo and then packed up the books. The tied up Neebo and Tealeia after they’d learned of Kibick’s death. They left the cellar with Neebo telling them that the Sentinels would get them. Oglesby relocked the cellar and broke the key off in the lock. The made a beeline to Geolain’s place and gave him the books. He was thrilled. He offered one of two spell books to Elenor as thanks.

Detail

They arrived in Calimport. Captain Pocaat expertly navigated the massive port. There were ships moving in all directions, seemingly without order or direction from any central authority. Mast protruded from the water in the harbor that told a story of haphazard sailing by less experienced seamen. But Pocaat knew how to get “The Forsaken” safely to it's pier. Even a smaller vessel like hers needed the assistance of the smaller guide boats to assure no accidents happened. They did just that. The ship docked, harbor officials began inspecting the ship. One of the nearby sailors, Viggo they thought his name was, said, “Always looking for new things to levy a tax on!”. The inspection went smoothly as the officials seemed to have a good rapport with Captain Pocaat. Once the ship was cleared, the party was able to disembark. Captain Pocaat took a moment to thank them for helping fight the sahuagin and the serpent. She said, “You have my gratitude and these. I won them in a card game some time back. I was frightfully inebriated at the time and have no memory of the details. I'm told they are magical but I do not know in what way. Perhaps they can be of use to you in your journey.”. She handed them a set of leather bracers. They thanked her for the safety of her ship. Oglesby ask her if she had any idea how they might find this person, Geolain, that they had come here to find. She told them she was unfamiliar with this Geolain. She did affirm that there was a Wizard Ward. She suggested that they should just ask about to see if someone could point them in the right direction. Pyreece asked about a map. She said, “Someone up there probably sells a map. I would venture to say that if there is something you wish to find, you can find it in Calimport.”.

They headed down the pier to the massive city that spread out before them. Their were buildings everywhere. Pyreece began looking to see if there was someone selling maps. They did find someone selling a very generalized map, indicating where the different wards were. They used the map to move east and the north into a walled area that appeared to be the Wizard Ward. Along the way, they spotted an inn called “The Black Dog” along with lots of little shops and temples of all kinds. Once they entered the Wizard Ward area, Pyreece tried to stop someone to ask for help. This man was obviously dressed in the clothes of someone of a higher station. His attitude toward her seemed to indicate that was how he felt at least. He said something about not helping bums. He suggested she find someone else. Oglesby said back to him, “May the flees of a thousand camels infest your armpits.”. Pyreece tried again with a lady moving by, explaining, “I'm not a bum and I'm not asking for money, just a little information if you don't mind”. The woman looked a little taken aback but stopped to let her know that the Faiths Ward was to the west. Pyreece thanked her but followed up by asking if she knew where they could find Geolain. She told them that Geolain lived in the Quill Ward to the north. Pyreece thanked her and they moved north, looking for a passage way through the wall to allow them to leave the Wizard Ward and enter the Quill Ward. Along the way, Elenor spotted a magic shop in the Wizard Ward that was very big and looked pretty nice. They found the passage way to the Quill Ward and made it through.

They stopped someone and asked about where they might find Geolain. They were questioned as to why they were looking for him but the he gave them directions to his home and they headed that way. It was mid-afternoon when they approached his house. There was a bell cord hanging near the door. They pulled it and waited. After a moment, the door opened and a young man stepped out. He asked who we were. Pyreece introduced everyone and explained that Veoden had sent them here from Almraiven. They were looking for Geolain. The gentleman introduced himself as Joah, apprentice to Geolain. He said, “One moment please!”, and then went back in and closed the door. A moment later he returned and said, “Geolain will see you now!”, as he opened the door and asked them to come inside. He escorted them into a drawing room and had them wait there. While they waited, women came in and brought with them some food and drink. An old man with white hair entered the room and introduced himself as Geolain. Pyreece introduced everyone to him and explained again that Veoden and sent us to him in hopes that he could help us find someone. She tried to be a little less forth coming with the why of the matter but Geolain kept questioning why they wanted to find this individual. He offered food and drink to them and they took that Pyreece tried to explain that they were simply trying to deliver the news of Arowains death to a dear friend of his. He continued to question why such a sturdy group would be necessary to deliver such a simple message.

Brandy finally broke in a just told him everything. She told him how Arowain had jumped in front of her when the witch tried to kill her. She followed it up by telling him about the coin of power Arowain had been forced to make for Daresh. Then she told him about the obsidian meteor with streaks and pieces of mythral inside. They explained how Veoden had sent them to acquire about a pound of the silvery metal and how they had to kill off a nest of goblins to get to it. He finally agreed to find Halaan for them but he needed something from them as well. The group known as The Sentinels of the True Way had been stealing books on magic from around Calimport and were preparing to burn them. He wanted them to save the books. Brandy asked, why they would want to burn them. Geolain explained it as, the Sentinels of the True Way want top return the world to a time when there was no magic. All magic, Arcane or Divine, is frowned upon. They are a group that operates underground, hidden. They hide their membership. They've been stealing books from libraries of scholors, from wizards, and from sages. They have a pretty good haul of them by now. We estimate about 30 or 40. He wanted them to simply save the books and bring them to him. By then he should be able to draw them a map to where the Halaan is.

Be careful. The Sentitnels of the True Way have many allies, don't trust anyone. Brandy asked, “Where do we start?”. Geolain suggested that they start with someone named Driskel. He owns of an establishment known as The Blind Beggar Inn. It's in the Makers Ward. It's a bit of a run down place. He pulls out a more detailed map and marks where they can find this inn on their map. Geloain sid, “He's the owner of the inn, and probably one of the few people that we are certain, is a member of this organization. Brandy asked if he thought he was the leader of this group. Geolain told him that he didn't think he was smart enough top be their leader but, he could probably point them to where the books are hidden, with a little persuasion. He suggest that Elenor and Pyreece lose the look of magic wielders. Their attire suggests that they use magic regularly. They might want to tone that down some before they go there. Brandy asked, how would they recognize the books. Geolain told him that they would be books on higher arcane knowledge. They would include spell books, books on the history of magic, the practice of magic, and the future of magic. If you find a cache of books like that, then you've probably found the people we are looking for. Brandy said that doing this won't stop magic, it's everywhere. Geolain agreed that there is little to no chance of success in their plans but some pretty important material could be lost as a result of their ignorance. They would rather that the books be recovered and saved and the people be brought to some sort of justice for at least the thievery.

Brandy asked if they'd stolen any books from him. Geolain said, “Yes, they stole a druidic book called The Leave and Twig. It's a book of herbs and medicine. It's not really a book on magic but rather a book on herbalism, chemistry, and healing. Why they would want tpo destroy a book that can save lives and heal people, I don't know.”. Oglesby asked if he had a book that they could use as a decoy or a prop to use to insinuate themselves into the Sentinels. He did have one and provided it. It was book on Evocation. It's not really magical but it is something they would wish to destroy. Elenor said, “Maybe I would like to look at that!”. He put a simple cantrip spell on it so if they tested it, they would detect the magic on it. He did that. Elenor asked if he was zble to identify things, or if he knew someone that could do that for them. He said Joah could do that and needs the practice so that would be perfect. He rings a bell to summon him. Joah was thrilled to be able to do that for them. She shows him the bracers that Captain Pocaat had given them and identified them as Bracers of Archery. It gives a creature the ability to use any bow except crossbows as if he was proficient in its uses. If they are already proficient in a particular bow, they get +2 to attack and +1 damage whenever that type of bow is used. Brandy took those. She is now a badass with a bow. They discussed going to the Blind Beggar and convince them that we don't like the magic users and found this book. Convince them that we want to destroy books like this to and we have a way to do it. They headed to the Hookward and Dockward areas to find gently used clothing to help disguise Pyreece and Elenor. They each found some proper clothing disguise. Brandy picked up something as well and then went and got it dirty. That started a conversation about selling cloths that looked a little dirty, or torn. The store owner had a cousin that believed there was a market for that sort of thing. He was looking for investors for the new business, Tattered-R-Us.

They headed to the Makers Ward and the Blind Beggar's Inn. The Makers Ward was more of a manufacturing district with smithies, leather working, brassware, and glassware. It appezrs to be where things are made as the name suggests. They eventually find a full sized statue of a beggar, eyes wrapped in cloth, standing by the door, holding out a cup! The sign by the door read Blind Beggar Inn. Oglesby led the way and they entered. Elenor stuck close to Oglesby. The Inn was dark and dirty. It had a small bar with some rickety looking chairs. A stone fireplace blackened with soot stood on the north wall. There was. Man standing behind the bar. There were a few guests nursing beers. On man was head down on the datble with a half mug of beer. As they entered, everyone turned to look but then went back to ignoring them. The serving wench came over to the table they had chosen and welcomed them. Oglesby began by trying to get drink choices. There really weren't any options. Lukewarm beer and some leftover stew were their choices. They ordered the beer, stew, and bread. He began by telling her we were business people looking to sell some things. When asked what, he told her it was something that her personally found detestable. “It's a book!”, he said. He played on the fact that he had no use for the book or the people that use those kinds of books. She asked to see the book. There stew arrived. She was under the impression that it was a naughty book. Elenor was reading it. She asked Elenor what the name of the book was. “Processes of Evocation”, she answered. The youg lady was surprised by the title. It didn't sound naughty top her, it sounded more like one of those books the magic bastards use.

The wench wondered why Elenor would read such a book. Magic like that is evil according to her. Oglesby broke in with not liking magic books or the people that read them. He thought he might be able to sell it to someone that wanted it. He'd heard someone round here did. He tried to continue the ploy by telling her, if he could sell it. He might know where he could get some more. She tried to buy it for 10 copper buy Oglesby waved that off. “It's worth a lot more than that!”, he said. He asked if there was someone else he could talk to about it. She asked if he could procure more of these and how many. He told her he could get quite a few. She finally went behind the bar to consult someone. She came back out and the man from behind the bar came with her. He asked how they were enjoying the stew. Oglesby began trying to flatter the mans cooking skill. He seemed very surprised at that. Oglesby kept laying it on thick. The man saw the book and asked Elenor if he could have a look at it. She passed it to him after he puts on a glove. He thumbed threw it a little and asked if they could get more books like this. Oglesby let him know that he could. He studied the group intently. Oglesby tried to use Thieves Cant with him but though he recognized what it was, he didn't understand what was being communicated. Oglesby asked If he collected these kinds of books.

The man replied, “Let me be straight with you, I think these books are evil pieces of shit. I have an army of people that agree with me. If you are of like mind, I would like to get as many of these books as you think you can get.”. Oglesby said, “It would be quite a few but the question is, what are you doing to get rid of them? Do you know how to get rid of them?”. He said, “You let me worry about that!”. Oglesby explained that some of the books he could get would be quite difficult to get rid of. The man replied, “Those I can't destroy end up at the bottom of the sea!”. Oglesby said, “But then they're not gone forever.”. He then tried to convince him that his group, gesturing around the table, knew how to turn off such magics. He further suggested that they might be able to assist him. He agreed tio hear them out. Oglesby asked about the size of his collection. He told Oglesby that he had quite a few. Oglesby asked if he could take care of them for him. The man said, he could take care of them himself. Ogklesby tried to explain that magic protects itself and that if he wanted to get rid of it, that had to be turned off first. He added, “You have to disenchant it! You can't just get rid of it by burning it, most of the time that doesn't work. They protect themselves. Even if you burn them, they'll just come right back! My team here knows ways around that so they re gone for good. We can help you do that. Interested?”.

The man asked, “Who on your teams the specialist?”. Oglesby pointed at Elenor. The man continued, “Then why don't you two”, pointing at Elenor and Oglesby, “come with me!”. They left the inn while the rest of the party waited. He toook them through the back room and out the back door. The man continued the conversation along the way asking how they found out who he was. Oglesby told him that he had some friends around town, certain parties that were interested in these sort of things, and knowing his specialty in acquiring them and her specialty, nodding toward Elenor, in getting rid of them, they seemed to think this was a natural fit. He took them to a house and went in to a spot by his fireplace and removed a brick and pulled out a set of keys. He came back out and they went to a cellar door beside the house. He gave the door a knock that was obviously meant to alert someone inside that it was he or a member his group that was coming in. Then he unlocked it. As he did, he turned and said, “You're gonna like this!”. They entered and moved down some stairs into a cellar. There were three people down there already. As they got down there, they were introduced to Tealeia, Neebo, and Kibick. He finally told you his name was Driskel. Oglesby and Elenor chose to use their real names. His three had weapons drawn but were relaxing their ready stance. He told them tha he thought he had some blokes that could help them out. Oglesby nodded in their direction and then was pointed to a pile of books. It looked like a collection of thirty to forty books.

Oglesby went over and looked at it and said, “Yeah, well….you got quite a problem here, don't ya?”. Driskel pointed out that he was a little bit torn about this as the reckoned those all to be worth quite a pile of money. Oglesby asked which one of his friends there had the skills to acquire these for him. Driskel told him that there were many people around town that helped acquire them. He told him that these three were his guards more than anything. He said, “They can procure though, but it’s the freelancers like you that want to make a little coin that bring us most of these. Most of them do it cause they hate the fucking wizards fucking up everything all the time.”. Oglesby said, “I have to say that quite a few of them have foiled some of my masterful schemes in the past so I have no love for em.”. Driskel said, “The world was a lot better without the bastards and we aim to see it put back right.”. Oglesby said, “I totally agree!”. Driskel said, “Well, anyway, this is the lot of books we're burning in the morning.”. He asked, “So you think these are going to be a problem? We've burned them before and never had a problem.”. Oglesby said, you do know that a lot of times, when you burn a book, it goes back to where you got it from?”. He added, “We'll need a little time to look these through if you don't mind, and we add our book to the collection as well. Let's see how effective this will be.”. Driskel said, “I like the cut of your jib man!”. Elenor added, “You do know that to disenchant these books, it's going to take some time, more than just a night Oglesby. I can't just do ll of these books in one might.”. Driskel responded, “What if wee burn them nd the ones that don't burn, you can disenchant?'. Elenor reminded him, “That doesn't work!”. Driskel said, “Sure it does, we've burned them before!”. Elenor said, “I'm sure you've burned them but have you gone back to see if they went back to where they were before?”. Driskel replied, “I've never heard of such a thing but it's the kind of bullshit that magic would do.”. Elenor said, “Yes it is!”. Driskel was growing frustrated and said, “Fucking magic”.

Tealeia said, “I think he's talking shit! That doesn't sound right to me!”. Oglesby turned to her and asked, “Oh, are you a wizard?”. She said “….No!”. He asked her, “So you have some skill in the magical arts?”. Again she said, “…Well, no!”, but then she turned the question back on him, “So are you one of these wizardly types?”. Oglesby said “No, but Elenor here has been personally injured by quite a few of them and she's dedicated her life to showing them where they belong in life. Her thing is about revenge here. So, if Elenor says it's going to take a little bit of time and work to do this, then I would say, it's going to take us a little bit of time and work to do. Let's make sure this stuff is gone for good.”. He turned to Elenor and asked, “What do tou think. Is it going to take some of the others, that we are going to need their help on this?”. Elenor answered, “probably! The more people here to do it, the faster we can get it done! If I'm doing it by myself, it's going to take a while.”. Oglesby asked Driskel, “So what do you think, do you mind if I go get the rest of my team and we'll take care of this for you?”. Driskel asked the others, “What do you guys think?”. No oe immediately responded. He turned to Elenor and said, ” I thought you had the stink of magic on you but he explained it so now I understand.“. He offered to burn them now but Oglesby cautioned him against it, asking Elenor if a specific book needed to have a magical arrow put through it before it can be burned. Elenor went with it and agreed. He suggested that the halfling they travel with has arrows that would work. Elenor added that each person in their party has a specialization that helps her destroy the books. Driskel grunted and said, “I know it's tricky business.”. Oglesby added, “And a dangerous business if you aren't careful.”. Driskel suggested that they get their team together and meet back here in the morning. Oglesby agreed sith him and added, “As a matter of good faith, I'll leave this book,” referring to the book that Geolain had given him to use, “here with you!”. Driskel said, “You are going to make the world a better place, Oglesby!”. The headed back to the inn.

When they got back, Driskel went back to working in the kitchen while the wench came over to check with Oglesby about how it went. Oglesby told her it went well and that they were going to take care of this problem. She was excited and said something about the group growing everyday and how today, they added six new members. She was referring of them of course. As she went from table to table, she would do her serving tasks but she and the other customers would turn and look their way while they talked. Later, as the night began to wind down and the staff started cleaning the place up. Oglesby told Driskel we were going to go get a room for the night and meet him back here first thing in the morning. They headed out and made their way to the books while Oglesby explained what had happened and where the books were. The reach the house and Oglesby picked the lock and went in to get the keys from behind the brick by the fireplace. They then went around to the cellar and he did the special knock. He unlocked the door and they went in and down the stairs. The three people that were down there asked, “Aren't you back a little early?”.

Oglesby told them there had been a change in plans. “We have to get to work on this now or we aren't going to be able to get rid of these things any time soon.”. They asked, “Where is Driskel?”. Oglesby replied, “He's finising up at the bar and will be here shortly!”. They told him that they'll have to wait on Driskel to get back and then figure out what they are going to do. Pyreece said, “Well, we can start getting rid of them while we're waiting on him to get here. As long as they're destroyed, you don't care if we destroy them do ya?”. Oglesby told the rest of the party to go over and start looking through em and see which ones we should work on first.”. Neebo moved over to Elenor and pokes the point of his dagger into her side and says, “You better not be up to any bullshit girl!”. Audra moved up behind him and put the point of her sword into his side and said, “You'd better be very careful with my friend sir!”. He turned to look back at her. There was a brief look of, oh shit, on his face, but then he pout away his dagger and moved away saying, “Same goes for you!”.

Oglesby kept looking at books muttering to himself, loud enough for the others to hear, “Mmm, this is bad!”. He finally said, “Guys, we've got to take these! We can't do it here, it's not going to work.”. Audra agreed, “Yes, this is not a good location for this sort of thing.”. Neebo chimed in, “You're not taking the books unless Diskel says so!”. Oglesby said, “Young man, if you don't let us do our job, you're never going to be rid of these evil things!”. Audra said, “Well, we can go ahead and bag them up so when he gets here, we can go and get this done!”. Oglesby followed with telling everyone to get these bagged up. They pulled out big bags and started reaching for the books when Neebo said, “No, no, belay that order! Don't bag them up!”. Pyreee said, “Well we're going to bag them up so we are ready to go when he gets here! We don't want to be doing this all night!”. Neebo said, “I'm calling bullshit on this!”, He told Kibick to go get the team. Kibick started to head for the stairs. The party scrambled to stop him and get control of these people. Elenor cast shield on herself. Oglesby attacked Neebo ith a short sword and missed. Kibick turned and started to run up the stairs. Pyreece to a swipe at him but missed. Kibick continued up the stairs and out into the darkness. Tealeia attack Audra and missed. Neebo attacked Oglesby and missed. Pyreece chased Kibick up the stairs and out the door, moving to the south. She was unablke to catch up to him to grad him or hit him. Kipp moved up to Neebo and hit with one of her attacks. Neebo falls to his knees and drops his weapon saying, “Hey.hey, I didn't sign up for this. I surrender man”. Audra attacked Tealeia again and missed. Brandy ran up the stairs and sees the two of them running south. She planted herself and took a bow shot with a fire arrow at Kibick and hit her, killing him. Brandy said, “Took care of that!”.

Elenor started bagging books. Neebo was pleading at this point, saying things like, “I didn' sign up for this. Hey man, just trying to rid the world of this cursed stuff. I'm trying to be the good guy here!”. As he kicked Neebo's weapons away, Oglesby said, “I understand!”. As he looks toward Tealeia, Neebo said, “Fuck this hurts!”, as he clutched his wound asking, “Can you do something about this? The bastard cut the crap out of me.”. Oglesby yells at Tealeia, ordering her to drop her sword. She backs up then and drops her sword. She ran to Neebo's side, trying to stop the bleeding. The she asked if they were some kind of Wizard guild fuckers. Oglesby said, “We'll help him!”. Pyreece grabbed Kibick's body and brought it back in. Tealeia said, “Oh my gods, you killed Kibick!”. She runs over to Kibick yelling, “Nooo!”, followed by a lot of crying. Brandy said, “I'm sorry! She shouldn't have run away. I'm a good shot!”. They tied Need=bo and Tealeia up, packed the books. Neebo said, “You know, you can take these books and walk out of here but Driskel and them, they're going top find you! They are going to hunt you down! You'd best make your way out of town!”. Oglesby replied, “We have people looking for us anyway, so!”. They finished packing the books and started heading out. Neebo said, “You were hired by a wizard, you know he's going to double cross you, right?”. Oglesby said, “I'm not going to say who hired us! Let's just say, it's going to be worth a lot of money.”. Neebo asked, “You mean you just stole em for the money? You're going to sell em?”. Oglesby exited the room, closed and locked the door, breaking the key off in the lock.

They headed straight to Geolain's place. They got to his house and knocked. After a couple times knocking, they heard a voice call out, “Who is it?”. Oglesby replied, “Joah, it's us, we got the books!”. He quickly unlocked and opened the door, excited and invited them in. He went to wake Geolain and the party moved to the room they met with him earlier. Geolain arrived in the room, ecstatic. He counted the books and said, “They had this many? There are 35 books here! The Leaf and Twig, you found it!”. He offered Elenor one of two spellbooks, The Book of Carlisle and Raspars Silver Book. You may have one or the other!“ He went through the spells in each book.
