The battle continues. Strahd uses a legendary action to attack Haldar and misses with a natural 1. We continue hearing screams from the hallway to the west. Radu attacks Misty, in an attempt to get to the amulet, and misses. The heartbeat sound continues and we see people throw open the doors to the west, trying to flee something. We hear Luvash scream out, “They’re going to kill us all, it’s a trap! Arrigal, you bastard, she’s your niece for gods sake!”. A plea has been made to Strahd on behalf of Arabel but Strahd is a little busy right now. Vistani1 attacks the T-Rex, hitting it, but for only little damage. Snoggly saves twice and maintains his polymorph. Karl Wachter attacks Ezmerelda with crits but she remains standing. Kassamir fires a magic missile, target unknown. Vallaki2 attacks Haldar and hits both times, one critically. Vallaki1 attacks Dain, hitting him twice. Dain provides some healing to Rinn at second level. That’s was a big help. Ismark attacks Strahd but can do no damage. There are many NPC’s hits as the DM works through them, resulting in Urwin Martikov falling, and Ezmerelda falling as well. The heartbeat pulses again and the whole building shakes from a wave of red energy that comes through the room. Everyone, but especially Dain and Kyanna, feels the negative energy coming from it.
Round 5 Misty attempts to get the amulet away again and succeeds. Following that, she pounces quite a distance across the room and passes the Amulet to Dain to pass to Kyanna. Misty then makes a run for the back steps. Fiona Wachter attempts to dispel Snoggly’s polymorph but fails. Rinn attacks Strahd and punches a Vallaki opponent. Strahd uses a legendary action to attack Rinn and misses. Kassamir takes a hit but seems to be doing well. Luvash sets Arabel down in the hallway and runs toward Strahd, yelling at him to stop this. Zanfyr, in yeti form, attacks and kills Yuri, the werewolf. Kyanna casts a Guiding Bolt, at 4th level, on Strahd, and crits him for quite a bit of damage. Strahd casts a spell on Rinn and something seems to grab him, lifting him 10 feet in the air, and carries him toward the window. It is a Telekinesis spell. Arrigal attacks the Yeti, formally known as Zanfyr, and misses. Strahd uses a legendary action to move out of one of the windows. Haldar, moves rapidly across the room and casts a Cure Wounds on Ezmerelda, reviving her. She looks up and says, “We’ve got to stop meeting like this!”.
Snoggly is done with Fiona Wachter, and barrels his way through those around him toward her. He takes a hit from one of those he passes. She screams, “Get away from me!” as he bites down on her. Snoggly grapples her. With his tail, he also swats Arrigal. Ezmerelda fires off Magic Missiles at Karl Wachter, ending his life. Sasha takes sunlight damage as the only remaining Vampire in the room. Sasha takes a couple of attacks at Kyanna doing a bit of damage. Piddlewick takes a silver arrow that is in his hand and attacks at a werewolf but misses. He then chases after Misty. As he is running off, Haldar catches a glimpse of something whose movements seem eerily like those of Piddlewick. Davian Martikov flies across the room to assist Rinn. Sasha gets an attack of opportunity on Davian and hits him. Davian grabs Rinn and attempts to pull him back from the window. Vallaki4 moves to attack the T-Rex in an attempt to help Fiona. Radu attacks the T-Rex a couple of times but none of the impacts his ability to maintain his form. Luvash, seeing Strahd leave, runs back out of the room. Vistani1 attacks Zanfyr and connects with one of them. Several NPC’s fight other NPC’s and then we get back to Dain who is hit twice.
Dain makes an attempt to move to grab Rinn. He manages to get ahold of Rinn. Father Lucian casts Dispel Magic at Rinn, breaking the hold of whatever is pulling him out of the room. Rinn did remember seeing Strahd turn north as he exited the window. Anton moves to attack Rinn. There are a few more NPC attacks on NPC’s. A few of the mists vampires devolve. Another heartbeat thump and round 5 ends.
Round 6 Misty casts Pass Without Trace on herself and continues up the stairs. We got to see another map. She came up to a balcony moving off to the south, I believe. I don’t have a screen shot so I don’t remember exactly where she went. Fiona Wachter casts another Dispel Magic in one last attempt to break free but it fails. Rinn moves south to Sasha, and takes an attack at her, even though she is really cute. He dishes out some good damage but she is still standing. Several more NPC attacks take place. Dusk Elf1 falls. The T-Rex takes another couple of hits. Zanfyr takes a swipes at Radu after paralyzing him, hitting him for a good deal of damage. Kyanna casts a Guiding Bolt on Sasha. She also casts a healing on Ezmerelda. Arrigal attacks the T-Rex for two hits. He does quite a bit of damage but doesn’t break Snoggly’s concentration. Arrigal then disengages and moves into the hallway. Haldar attacks Nicholai Wachter but doesn’t fell him. Snoggly bites down and ends Fiona Wachter. Dropping her out of his mouth. He swats at Arrigal with his tail, killing two Krezk Nobles while doing a lot of damage to Arrigal. Ezmerelda attacks Nicholai and takes him down. Sasha burns up in the sunlight. Radu breaks his paralyzation. The T-Rex takes another two hits. More NPC’s fight. Dain finally gets to attack something, so he attacks Anton hitting him twice. The sword is unable to damage him but the Divine Favor and the Divine Smite pulses 24 points of radiant damage into him. More NPC’s take actions against each other. More fall. Anton attacks Dain hitting him once. Danika hit a werewolf with a crit. The round ends with another heartbeat sound. The red light pulses through the room again, ending that round.
