The goblin prisoner struggles to communicate with the party, Symon mostly, as Symon can speak goblin. They impress upon the goblin that he should be quiet and Cal-El removed the gag with a dagger at the goblins throat. The goblin pleaded for his life. He begged not to be killed and told us his name was Duzzt. He is a scout and doesn’t want to be here. He is made to be here by his master Grish-ta-nak. He and his whole kaska(tribe) is slave(sava) to Grish-ta-nak. He tells us that he is here with Pasha, his leader here. When asked, Duzzt couldn’t tell us how many goblins were down here, only that there were goblins, elite goblins, and Kabask’s or Kobolds. Grish-ta-nak is making an army of slaves. He tells us that he wants to go home, but if he leaves Grish-ta-nak will kill his whole family. His family, is way north digging for gold and gems. All are way north. When I asked why they are here he said Grish-ta-nak sent them to prepare for an attack on the city, he said Grish-ta-nak wishes to kill everyone in the city and take the gold, Duzzt not want to, just want to go home to Mondark(mountains). Mondark is west. If he leaves his family dies. What’s up ahead for us. He tells Symon that Pasha and the mean goblins, elite goblins. Pasha carry Skull Cracker. Pasha has slave himself who is mean like him. Also Kabask(Kobolds).

When asked about the missing Chickens, Duzzt said they were good. Grish-ta-nak sent little food with them and they needed to eat so they take chickens and eat them. When asked about how they did that without leaving tracks, he said they put chickens in bags and leave some feathers behind so they think animal did it. They wear things on feet to hide tracks. Symon asked about missing people but Duzzt doesn’t know anything about missing people. They aren’t taking them. Simon asked if pasha was a goblin to which dust says he is a hob goblin, a big, and mean hobgoblin. Simon asked how many are up the tunnel he told us a couple of gluaat(about twenty each, for a total of forty) or so. It was obvious that the party was going to have a hard time with that many goblins, a hobgoblin, and a bunch of Kobolds.

Symon asked if Duzzt knows how to raise the gate blocking our way out. Duzzt told them that he can’t, but Pasha can open the gate. Eryn asked about the goblin that ran away and if he is telling Pasha about us and bringing him back to attack us now. Duzzt indicated that he’ll likely say nothing for to say something only points out that he failed and he will be killed for failure. Symon asked there are goblins that would be willing to leave if Duzzt could convince them to leave without fighting. Duzzt said that they and their whole tribe would be killed if they helped or left and the party failed to stop Pasha. They are scared and would not leave. Elites not leave, they are mean like Pasha and they fight. Kobolds not leave, they fight. Eryn asked how many elite goblins are up there and Duzzt indicated more than us.

Eryn asked Symon to ask, what they are doing up there now. Duzzt said they were digging to a humans house. Simon asked, which one to which Duzzt indicated, ”The big man!”. When asked, which big man, he says he doesn’t know, only that the man lives in the big house. The party deduced that he meant Sir Charles. Pasha says that if the big man dies the place will go crazy, it will be an easy win. Symon asked what is up the northern tunnels to set kobold traps. Symon asked, ”Just traps or kobolds themselves. Duzzt answered, ”Yes!”. Duzzt said something about a hole in the floor and nothing comes out of. Duzzt asked that we not kill his friends. They where a blue patch on their shoulder. Symon tells him we don’t want to kill them. We would like to help them leave but we can’t leave now either, with the bars down. Duzzt indicated that the Kobolds built that. Eryn asked Symon to ask Duzzt about the lever we found. Symon asked and Duzzt indicated that it locks out the rats so they don’t attack them when they come and go. The party discussed the bars and how Pasha can raise it back up. Maybe there is a switch or lever near the bars that will raises and lower them. Symon asked how much longer until the can enter the big man’s house. Duzzt told them they are ready now, just waiting on a signal from Grish-ta-nak, through scouts passing messages north and back.

The party discussed telling the guards what is going on but figured they would cut them out of the process and any information we could gain from being down here would be lost. If they don’t know about it, they will figure out that there is a way into the prison from here and we would lose that possible way in. That also brought us back to the point that we are severely injured. Eryn is very bloodied from the fighting we’ve had to endure up to this point. Simon asked Dizzt if they have a healer in their group or if they have potions or something like that. Duzzt indicated that there was a big box up the path where we encountered he and his friends. Simon asked if Duzzt had access to the box and he indicated yes. Simon asked if it had healing positions and can he get us some. He said he didn’t know, some potions stink. Angelique described a healing potion to Duzzt, and he indicated there were some in the box. He lead the party up the path, sticking to the southwestern wall to avoid traps He lewd them to a small alcove in the next chamber up the path, in the southwestern corner. The found some of the goblin’s supplies there and under some straw, they found the box. They took the box back to the domed chamber where they had been meeting. It had already been broken into so part of the top was broken away. They saw some writing on the lid. It said, “Fred, Freddy, and Fredrick’s Alchemy and Apothecary Shop”, and beneath that it said, “Stonebridge, Nordanlun”.

We recognized Stonebridge as being just north of Elmer’s farm. Eryn asked if the army had made it to Stonebridge. He indicated that they are north and they go through, ”Lots of chickens!”. In the box were compartments lined with hay, two contained shattered bottles and the packing material was stained with the dried contents of them. Two potion bottles appear to be potions of extra healing. They other three were tested by Angelique and she identified the green one as a potion of Antidote, containing three doses. The blue one was a potion of Aid(at 4th level). She couldn’t determine what the milky colored one was. Symon tried it and determined it was a potion of invibility. They gave Eryn that one. Eryn used two doses of healing on the spot. Xor also took a dose. Cal-El took the Antidote bottle. Xor took the Aid potion. It will last five rounds, 1 plus 1 per level(4th level) and gives plus one to attacks and saving throws.

Symon asked if there were any magic users, shamans, witchdoctors, or anything like that up there with Pasha. Duzzt indicated no. Elite’s are there but they have no magic. The party started up the hallway. Duzzt rearmed when they reached the scene of the battle with he and his friends. Then they moved forward through the tunnel they had just gone through. They made it back to the chamber where the crate had been stored. They began moving North and then Northwest through the next section. Eryn took the lead and they moved deeper and deeper into the tunnel. They came to a slightly widened area and turned Southwest. Eryn was being very slow and cautious as they explicated to run onto a lot of goblins. She heard some whispering ahead and finally decided to stop and toss a rock to try and get them to reveal what she hadn’t been able to see. It worked and two goblins revealed themselves. She fired on them, they fired on the group that had moved into the room behind her by now. Cal-El fell but Angelique was quick to stabilize and revive him. The rest of us killed the two initial goblins and the two additional goblins that joined them. Duzzt took off south and out of sight, telling the party to hurry. They followed a little more cautiously than he, but entered a chamber that was lit and had straw beds for the goblins to sleep on and a barrel of water and their other supplies. This is where Duzzt had been staying and the boss of this group had an Emerald in his straw bed that Duzzt dug around for. He showed It to the party and Symon told him he could keep it.

The party rested for a few minutes while Angelique, Xor, and Cal-El replaced their broken bow strings. Then they set out Northerly again. They crept forward following Duzzt until they reach a point where he let out a scream. Eryn moved in front of him to see what was going on. She saw the goblin that had escaped the first goblin battle, in a chamber ahead, badly beaten and dead, pinned against the wall. Apparently, he was special to Duzzt and it really hit him hard. Eryn moved forward a little more and looked around a corner leading straight north. She saw two kobolds that threw bottles that contained a liquid at her. One landed very close. Before she could respond, a third kobold popped out of the shadows and fired an arrow with a flint for the arrow head, against the rocks near the fluid from the bottle, sparking and igniting an explosive fire. She managed to just escape injury from the fire. She then fired on the kobald that had fired near her. The rest of the party came around into view and fired on them and quickly killed them. They searched two of them and found some gold. Xor moved up to the kobold in the back to search it, only to have another kobold round the corner and throw a bottle with a burning wick in it at him. He was hit and burned heavily. He managed to get the fire out before it took him. There was a lot of healing again. The rest of the party started up the other tunnel, northeast while Eryn waited in the shadows for the kobold to return. He never poked his head out again. She finally broke off and returned to the rest of the group. Duzzt meanwhile, had moved into the chamber with his dead friend and Angelique had gone down there to take a look at him to see if there was a chance she could help him. As she entered the chamber, Duzzt reached out to touch his friends arm and apparently triggered a trap. Fire engulfed his friend and him. He died quickly before Angelique could do anything. She did get the Emerald though.

They continued Northeast and the tunnel turned north and returned to the man made construction they had encountered earlier. Eryn carefully checked for traps for the first twenty feet and then spotted an intersection ahead. Moving slowly and carefully, staying in the shadows, she moved forward it. There was torch light coming from both sides of it. Straight ahead though, on the other side of the intersection, was a portcullis down and blocking the path forward. She continued moving up to the corner and peered in both directions. There were two chambers. One on the left and one on the right. She saw movement from the right as an armored goblin moved to a pile of wood and collected some and headed back out of sight. These must be the Elite’s that Duzzt had spoken of. She crept back south to let the group know about the Elite’s. The crept up together to the edge of the room on the right. Eryn fired a shot at one of them, missing. The rest of the group charged in, Xor and Cal-El took one two of them with Xor killing one in one hit. He turned his attention to the third one in the room. Cal-El missed and was hit by his goblin. Cal-El fell unconscious. Xor finished the third one as it ran up on him. Then turned his attention to the first one. Meanwhile, Symon had been setting himself in a position to protect the group should more pour out of the room that was on the opposite side of this intersection. He prepared to cast a Color Spray spell. Three more Elite’s poured out of that room toward the party. As they approached the intersection, he let loose with the spell and managed to make them all unconscious. The party quickly polished them off.
